Sanseman Government has
today signed the United Nations Global Compact
Agreement.
The Global Compact is a
framework for businesses that are committed to
aligning their operations and strategies with
ten universally accepted
principles in the areas of
human rights,
labour,
the environment and
anti-corruption .
As the world's largest, global corporate citizenship
initiative, the Global Compact is first and foremost
concerned with exhibiting and building the social
legitimacy of business and markets.
Sanseman Government
Director, Matthew Tukaki, has said the signing of
the Global Compact is the responsible thing to do
when providing services to Governments in developing
countries:
"The Global Compact is
an agreement that every business should sign up to
irrespective of whether they service the Governments
markets or not. It is fundamental that we act in
accordance with good governance, ethics and concern
for our environment, both natural and economic".
