The Main Points:

• The establishment of a State Skills Council - a collaboration between Government, industry and business to attack the skills crisis and develop programs for future workforce planning and employment growth

• The development of a National Workforce Planning Strategy

• Working with the recruitment sector to develop referral processes for people identified as having a specific training need or who have indicated an interest in ongoing education and training

• The support of a contingent loan scheme

• Collaboration with other Government jurisdictions and the Australian Public Service

• Reform of the governance (data and technology) and reporting frameworks for the VET and Private Provider Sector

• The introduction of centralised management systems for providers
