SansGov business briefings and
conferences evolved out of a gap in the market where
business, Government and industry were bombarded with a
range of events that, at the end of the day, cost a lot
and delivered little in terms of new knowledge and
learning.
In 2001 SansGov ran its very first
conference, the Global Knowledge
Management Conference. It was the
first truly global briefing on knowledge management,
a key issues confronting Government and the
enterprise. At the time we made the decision to
bring in practitioners - people who had actually
implemented knowledge management and were now in a
position to talk about the successes and the
failures. Through our extensive network we scaled
the globe. Our speak line up included the CIO of the
United States Department of the Navy, the CKO of the
United States National Defense University, the
Director of Education for the World Bank and
representatives of the United Nations. More than 300
people from across the globe attended and for a
decade since, attendees of that first conference
have returned time and time again to learn and
evolve. In fact, over time, attendees have also
become speakers.
State of the Education
Nation and Information Nation have
been run since 2003 and, in the case of
State of the Education Nation, has
been a resounding success both here in Australia and
New Zealand.
Our business briefings and
conferences are "hits" of knowledge, case studies
and information. In the case of our business
briefings we recognise time is a fact, which is why
we run them during the morning to allow people to
return to work in the afternoon. We also podcast
speeches and are in the midst of updating our
conference sites to include forums and interactive
chat.
In 2010 we are adding two new
business briefings that are focused on some
significant challenge and opportunity areas. The
first is our "Green Business Briefing"
series that provides business,
Government and industry snapshots into what is
happening in the area of green industry, innovation,
regulation and practical steps organisations can
take to reduce carbon footprints.
The second new briefing being
introduced for 2010 is around "Ethics in
Business" and is more a workshop style
session. There are a number of examples and cases
studies that prove employees and executives still
have a long way to go when it comes to understand
the "how's" and pitfalls of doing business offshore.
This new briefing provides a powerful new learning
experiences that ultimately acts as a risk
mitigation tool.
Keep an eye out for new briefings
and conferences being developed for 2011 and 2012
such as the Global Green Business and Industry
Conference.
